Gamecube Component cables are fricken expensive. I just felt like saying tthat, seeing how they cost 250-300 bucks on ebay.

I settled for RGB scart, just couldn't justify the £120+ that they sell for on eBay.

Does Scart output progressive scan? Or is it interlaced only?

I'm pretty sure it's interlaced, I did a side-by-side comparison with PSO on both the DC outputting to VGA, and the cube outputting via Scart. The VGA's 480p was much sharper, but the Scart on the cube is still miles better than standard composite which is the de-facto here in the UK.
I'm considering a Scart to HDMI upscaler, I found a comparison video between a cube outputting via Scart-HDMI vs a Wii via component. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wUn4JKlQ9oY It's worth me trying out as I have various other retro systems that are currently connected via Scart. |
