I just picked this one up yesterday, and I'm really liking it. Has anyone else played this one yet? It's kind of like Grand Theft Auto meets Bonanza. I like the plotline, the graphics, and while the gameplay takes a little getting used to, I am having fun with it. This is the main reason I decided to break out the gamecube again. I like bustin' caps old west style! Mr. Green

I have not played this game yet. It isn't necessarily my style, but I have thoroughly researched the game. You don't see that many old west games. The only other ones I could think of was Red Dead Revolver by rockstar, and Darkwatch. Neither of these were released on the GameCube though.

So, question for you: Is the Frame Rate good in GUN? Does it hitch up at all? Is it very fast good framerate? or slower?

At some points in the game when you get a lot of enemies on the screen framerate slows down a little bit, but it's still very much playable. It's really cool because it has a "quickdraw" mode which is kind of like Max Payne's "bullet time" and when in this mode you actually see the bullet traveling to it's intended target! Has to be some of the most graphic portrayal of violence I have ever seen in a video game.

i got it for christmas and really enjoyed it. great story worthy of sergio leone with a great atmosphere, complete with an EXCELLENT end boss. you feel like your in the west in the game, damnit. my only qualms with it is that theres simply not enough different things to do. the hunting and ranching side missions are a good change, but other then that its "go here, shoot this". lack of multiplayer is another small hindrance.

over all its a worthy title, worth the 50 at release and a steal at the 20 and lower i see it for now.

red dead revolver is also a well done western shooter with AWESOME multiplayer. sadly, its not available on GC. hopefully rockstar will support future nintendo consoles a little better.
