3-IN-1 VIRTUAL RETRO ADAPTER , connect nes/snes/n64 controllers to gamecube!

This is a cool new controller adapter made by innex that works with gc. It will be shown at e3 and is only going to cost 20 bucks. The snes controller adapter i bought for my gc cost 40 bucks about so this is cool. http://www.innexinc.com/index.php?nav=news#8

$19.99 is a very solid price, but that is a suggested MSRP. Maybe sites like Play-Asia will sell it for more. I wish they had pictures of a Prototype to show. I am curious to see waht this device looks like.

Do you mean you think this will just be released in japan and would have to be imported? I don't know where the companies making this are based but it sounded like it was being released here. And even if the price goes a little above 20 bucks it is still a a bargain since the snes/nes adapters for gc are 30-40 bucks each. Plus I do not even know if a n64 to gc adapter exists besides this.

this thing is interesting, it sounds perfect for my gameboy player. it would be nice if we could buy it from local shops though. if i read that correctly the company is located in California. so it should indeed be sold here in the US.

Anyone know if this is for sale yet? I would love to use this on Zelda Collection.

Bad news, it has been delayed to September and doesn't look like it will have the n64 controller connection anymore.

http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2009/08/03/3-in-1-wii-controller-adapter-now-a-2-in-1-coming-out-in-sept em/

I was wondering I could find no info about this device lately.

I have heard no more news about it and the first link I posted in this thread (it was from their site announcing it ) has been deleted off that site. I am guessing this thing is dead because they ran into the n64 support problem awhile back.

EMS, a well established accessories manufacturer, is coming out with the Classic Linker N64. Unlike the previous adapter which was announed but never released, this one will definatly be released. The product is already listed on the site with packaging and item photos.

Here is the link:

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-g4-49-en-70-3nz6.html

Features that pertain specifically to GameCube use:

  • Connects N64 and PS / PS2 controllers to GC
  • Build-in two sets of key mapping
  • Free Button Swap function
  • Supports analog stick adjust function

The main usage for this would be really if you don't already own a PS1/PS2 to GameCube controller converter, and want the bonus of using an N64 controller in the N64 games on the Zelda Classic Collection/Ocarina of Time Master Quest bonus discs.

Awesome man, thanks for the heads up. Ya, the only original thing about that failed innex adapter was going to be the n64 support so this is good news. I don't yet have a ps2 controller adapter for the gc so this is also an appealing feature for this adapter.

You can get NES and SNES controller adapters for GC from this site http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?cPath=22&osCsid=54f9b3b7dd3bfaac233d7066961c698e (also sold on amazon). I have the snes adapter and it works well.
