After finding cheap prices for both the broadband modem and game, where would I be able to get a keyboard? I plan on playing online within the next week or two, if all goes well.

Ok I just checked around and the cheapest solution is to get a GameCube keyboar convertor off of eBay for around 5 bucks.

Search eBay for "gamecube keyboard" and they will all come up. I have not used the convertor, so I cannot vouch for it's quality. I have the ASCII keyboard, which is very expensive.

Search for a Datel Powerboard. I use one myself.

Yea there is the following options available:

Datel Powerboard
Sharkboard
ASCII / SAMMY Keyboard Controller
GC KB Convertor

The Datel Board is the weakest of all of these. Some people had success with these keyboards, but they are really just cheap keyboards with an adapter. The sharkboard is a better overall keyboard, and has a USB connector for PC's and Playstation 2's (since the PS2 supports native USB.

Because of this, going with an inexpensive GC KB convertor is a pretty smart choice from a financial standpoint since it would only cost around $6.00 USD + SH. Where-as a Datel / Shark would run around 10-20 depending.

Vandross, your Datel Board is still working solid? I have heard so many stories of people who's powerboards died on them.

No, I've been using it for 5 months and it works just fine. The people who told you their powerboards stopped functioning, how long have they used their keyboard?

Many of them are onto other keyboards, or using an adapter. Their Datel Boards crapped out a while back. Some people I know got a Datel board and immediatly started having problems. The Datel board was the first widely available gamecube keyboard, but it had it's fair share of problems. Those who still have a solid functioning Datel Board today were lucky to get a decent construction.

I ordered my Datel Powerboard from a Web Shop. The funny thing is, it was the last copy and luckily, it functioned well too. Mr. Green

Hey thanks for all the input. I think I'm going to go for the adapter.

Let me know how well it works. I want to pick one up for myself as well. I can never have too many adapters. The more options available the better.
