any1 else know about this?? I really have wanted a controller with a good d pad to use with my gb and gba games through the game boy player. This is perfect. I was going to get the ps2 to gc converter but this is even better. For now I was using the gc to gba cable to use by gbasp as a controller. Since its dpad is bigger than the gc controller, but i hate the flatness of it . I found the amazon link in some guys blog. These are the only adapters I have seen that let nes and snes controllers work on gamecube, they cost about 20 something bucks each though.

NES controller adapter

SNES controller adapter

Here's their website. I was really hoping they would make an adapter for the Sega Genesis because I have some wireless controllers that would be great to use.

the regular gc d-pad seems like an afterthought in design with a main function of menu navigation or something. it's good these other options are available for better 2D control.

more good news with this, apparently the nes controller adapter for gamecube works with the nes advantage controller (arcade stick) so with the gb player all ur gb arcade style games can be played with an arcade stick!

edit* I just orded the snes adapter from the makers website at http://www.retrousb.com/index.php It was about 5 cents cheaper to buy there than on amazon haha. If you buy the nes adapter and snes adapter at the same time at retrousb's site you will only have to pay shipping once instead of twice if you bought it at amazon. They do charge a sales tax for shipping to california on the retrousb website. So if you werent like me and lived outside of california you would save another dollar or so.

the beauty of backwards and forward compatibility! playing gba games with the nes advantage sounds great.
