if i replace the wireless connection with a dial up one can i share my dialup connection on the computer thro the crossover cable with my gamecube's bba?

Yes, but of course it might be pretty slow. Internet connection sharing basically takes any sort of live internet connection available to the computer (be it dialup, wireless networking, or net access through a second ethernet card) and allows access to it through the ethernet port that you tell it to share on.

So yes, you could set up your laptop to share a dialup connection, but it'd be much better to set it up to share the wireless connection.

And as previous posters have said, you only need a crossover cable to go from your computer to your Gamecube (not a hub). Of course, if you want to share the connection with more than one device (without switching the cable every time), then you would use a hub (can be found for less than $15) and a bunch of regular ethernet cables ($5 to $15 each, depending on where you buy and how long they are).

NOTE: Internet connecton sharing is not the most efficient process. It definitely works and it will get the job done, but a wireless ethernet bridge device will be faster and more reliable than a laptop with wireless networking set up to share the connection over ethernet (the two are doing basically the same thing, but the bridge will be better). Just food for thought.
