Does anyone know if there is a way, without owning PSO itself, to test the workingness of the GC BBA, i have my broadband adaptor, but no game yet. Anyway to test it to make sure the adaptor works?

There's no way to test if the BBA works without a game that currently supports online, and said game is currently PSO. I wish they included a browser disc or something.. oh well

I bet a company could make some easy money if they ported a browser to GC... like Opera

Yeah, that was the nice thing about the DC. It had a browser disk included. I hope Ninendo eventually releases one so that you can download saves, etc. off of the net. Maybe they could release one in an issue of Nintendo Power?

The only browser that is even around period for nintendo, is inside PSO. Technically since the underground scene just cracked open the whole GameCube piracy thing. The dev scene is slowly growing. Users are booting a PAL PSO version with a Freeloader disc then running homebrewed code and games.

Eventually I am sure someone will code a homebrew browser using PSO's in game browser as a foundation.

I'm trying to keep up with the whole gcdev scene, but, like you said, it's moving slow. Right now they've got a port of a Linux game (Rick Dangerous or something), and they've got a simple pong game. You don't necessarily need the PAL PSO, but you can do it with PAL PSO. If you wanna load up some proggies that they're making you'll need the newer US version though... I have the old one, so all I can do is make it display an image that says "It works!" lol In fact, you don't even need the freeloader, but you do need a BBA and PSO.

But a browser would be VERY nice. Downloading stuff would be cool too, like, for example, you could download patterns for Animal Crossing (2), decals for F-Zero GC (I saw screenshots at n-philes.com that showed a decal maker and a ship that had custom decals on it, very interesting..), custom characters and what not for future games. But I just want to check my mail from my cube... for when I can't get to the computer.
