Yes your players section ID in Phantasy Star Online is determined on what username you chose. based on the combination of characters, uppercase, lower case, letters, and alpha numerics, the game assigns your section id.
Each section ID has specific attributes that effect the drop rate of items. For instance Skyly drops a lot of Swords, Pinkal drops lots of high lvl Techniques, and Yelllowboze drops mesata more frequently. Also specific rares drop for specific section id's based also on location and difficulty level. Here is a complete list of all section ID's: ---------------------------- Viridia: Shots and Partisans appear often; Slicers are rare. Materials: Power, Evade, Defense Mag: Group A Greennill: Rifles and Daggers appear often; Swords are rare. Materials: Group B Mag: Mind, HP Skyly: Swords and Rifles appear often; Mechguns are rare. Materials: Power, Evade, Defense Mag:Group A Bluefull: Partisans and Rods appear often; Wands are rare. Materials:Mind, HP Mag:Group B Purplenum: Mechguns and Daggers appear often; Swords and Partisans are scarce. Materials: Power, Evade, Defense Mag: Group A Pinkal: Wands, Partisans, and high level Technique Disks appear often; Rifles are rare. Materials: Mind, HP Mag: Group B Redria: Slicers, Shots, and strong Armor & Shields appear often; Daggers are rare. Materials: Power, Evade, Defense Mag: Group A Oran: Daggers, Wands, and Swords appear often; Rods are rare. Materials: Mind, HP Mag: Group B Yellowboze: Higher amounts of Meseta appear; all other items appear with normal frequency.
