While reading some posts by fellow 98 users on WarpPipe forums, I noticed that lots of people on 98 are getting successful connections and are able to play.

As of this, I am going to be trying to connect with my Windows 98, firgure out what the problem is, do whatever it takes for online play!

Of course I will need someone else who has the patience to connect with me. Any vollunteers?

I have the patience to test it with you. Plus I verified that my setup functions by playing with both Nine and Oddball. Oddball lives in Norway. It was an interesting experience. he had about 22kb/s upstream and the game was going about 10fps...which is SLOWWWWW hehe. I guess distance really does have a roll in the speed of the frames.

Nine and my's game was faster than oddballs even though oddball had about 7kb/s more bandwidth than Nine did. But I guess sending all those mk data signals all the way across the atlantic ocean really affected the game speed.

Hit me up when I am around I am more than happy to assist you in testing this.

Heh... yeah, that's kind of far for a game intended for LAN-only play.

Just imagine if they had included full internet TCP/IP support with built-in lag coping strategies. Truly, natively online Mario Kart would really be something sweet.

But hey, at least it works. I'm not going to complain too much. I just can't wait for my damn BBA to arrive!!
