Don't know how this slipped past me for so long or even if it is true, but apparently the third TimeSplitters will have LAN for all 3 consoles and full online on PS2 and Xbox.

The final game will support both online play (up to 16 players, for PS2 and Xbox, and LAN functionality (for all three platforms), which is a first for Timesplitters. This should doubtless make many of you very happy.

Quite honestly I don't know whether I will get PS2 or GC version when I decide to buy it, I loved the controls for TimeSplitters 2 on GC, but with full online play on PS2 that may sway me in that direction.

This is quite old news and since I haven't been tracking this game I don't know if any more recent news has scrapped this already like with online for TS2

Unconfimed. And gamespy had posted this in July 16, 2004.

Also I would like to point out. EA has never released a console game with LAN capabilities. EVER. So far it's my theory they prevent LAN from being included in games because users would tunnel them if EA ever took them offline. EA likes to have users upgrade to the next version.

If TS3 does infact have no local network play then my theory will hold even more weight.

At the moment TS3 for me is a no-go. I understand Free Radical has creatve control over the game and EA is just publishing it, but I do not agree with EA's recent business model and what they are doing for the industry.

The only thing that would make me buy TimeSplitters 3, is if the gamecube version had LAN.

ive read in an interveiw with david doak(the guy from freeradical who was in goldeneye) saying that the game will be lan enabled for the gamecube and that EA have no say over whats in the game and that they are only publishing it .

Lets hope there is LAN support.

There isn't definite confirmation about the feature yet, for now we can only pray.

Honestly, I will be getting the PS2 version if it has online play even if the GC had LAN because with my setup I can't use WarpPipe.

Great magazine NGC Very Happy

After playing TS2 on all platforms, I thought the GC was my favourite Mr. Green
I thought the GC controller was best suited to the game.
